This is a live vocal and guitar performance of an original song by Mark Tully called “Sunrise” from his debut album, Origin, which was released on all streaming services on March 5, 2021. It was recorded in Durgin Hall room 112 in March for the Seven Six Records student showcase held in April, and later posted to his YouTube channel. Mark Tully is a senior in Sound Recording Technology at UML and will be graduating in May 2021.

As an excuse to play with a new “toy” (a 360-degree action camera), John Shirley shot and edited the video. John is the Founding Director of the ensemble, and coordinator of the Composition for New Media program.
This was a socially distanced project, shot completely outdoors and utilizing a green screen and a warped perspective camera making players look much closer together than they were.
Born Under a Bad Sign was recorded and made famous by Albert King. The lyrics are by William Bell and the music by Booker T. Jones (Stax Records bandleader).

This semester, a group of seniors from the Music Education department were supposed to go to the Lowell Senior Center and perform live band karaoke for them. Dr. Gena Greher, Savannah Marshall, and Alexis Csicsek went to the senior center and interviewed the people there to create a setlist of their favorite songs. Due to the pandemic, the band made a virtual version for the seniors to sing along to! This video was a part of one of the winning projects of the 2020 UML Student Research & Community Engagement Symposium, “Community Engagement Through Live Band Karaoke” by Alexis Csicsek.
